Additionally, our peer mentoring program allows us to reach clients across the 9 far northwest Kansas counties. Our Peer Mentoring Program incorporates the evidence-based SMART program, and these essential services are delivered by our staff who have personally faced and overcome addiction. They are now thriving in long-term recovery. If you are currently living with addiction, our mentors truly understand your struggles as they have been in your shoes and have worked diligently to get clean and sober to reclaim their lives. They have endured the devastation of substance abuse, including incarceration, losing custody of children, jobs, homes, and witnessing family relationships unravel. However, they reached a turning point when they decided enough was enough and committed to sobriety to rediscover health, happiness, and success. Our mentors will engage with you one-on-one to help you achieve the goals outlined in your individual treatment plan, collaboratively developed with you and your counselor. They will assist you in finding community support services, housing, and employment opportunities. Additionally, they can accompany you to court, medical appointments, and child custody meetings with the foster care agency and DCF. They also facilitate SMART support groups and host public sober socials for added enjoyment. Their invaluable emotional support, combined with accountability for your goals, is key to your success. They are excited to support you throughout your journey, whether you are facing active addiction, transitioning to sobriety, or establishing long-term recovery. Best of all, these services come at no cost to you! Our Certified Peer Mentors are dually certified to provide addiction counseling and support to individuals facing substance use disorders as well as those dealing with mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief management, and PTSD. We will focus on your individual treatment plan to help you reclaim a fulfilling life and restore your positive outlook for the future. Unlike traditional settings where you might see your mental health counselor monthly, we offer weekly meetings to ensure you never feel alone in your struggles. Our Peer Mentors have navigated their own mental health issues, providing them with a unique perspective to help you manage stressors and triggers effectively. Ultimately, our long-term goal is to restore your health and happiness, enabling you to thrive and enjoy the highest quality of life possible.

In the world of addiction, we understand that families can become just as affected as the actual addict. That's why we've integrated the cutting-edge CRAFT method (Community Reinforcement And Family Training) into our recovery program for families, which boasts a remarkable success rate of 70% for getting your loved one into treatment. In our pattern-changing classes for families, we will teach you effective addiction counseling techniques, how to set clear and safe boundaries with your addicted loved ones, and how to stop enabling addictive behaviors. You'll also learn how to rebuild healthy familial relationships by engaging with your loved one in a new, empathetic, and supportive way—different from what you might be accustomed to, and not enabling. We understand how difficult it is to watch your loved one's life spiral out of control; witnessing moments like sitting in court as they face sentencing or nearly losing custody of their children can lead to feelings of guilt, anxiety, and depression. Therefore, we also offer accompaniment to court and child custody meetings for family members. We recognize how isolating it can feel when facing public scrutiny or judgment, and dealing with your own feelings of shame or self-guilt when a family member suffers from a substance use disorder. Our family support services are here to emotionally support you through your healing journey. Additionally, we hold public support groups while maintaining confidentiality, providing much-needed emotional support for families, and we also offer a peer mentoring program and a SMART program to further assist you. All these services are provided free of charge!

Spiritual Chapel

We know how heartbreaking, chaotic, or nerve-racking it can be when you have a loved one in active addiction. Each late-night phone call from that familiar number can send your heart racing, knowing it might not bring good news. Even worse is the silence that stretches over days, leading your mind to wander to dark, scary places it shouldn’t have to go. Watching your loved one struggle through job loss, eviction, or the heartbreaking possibility of losing their children to foster care, or being arrested again, can leave you waiting for the other shoe to drop. In times like these, relying on our faith may be the only thing that offers a glimmer of peace and hope. Our small chapel provides a serene space where you can engage in addiction counseling, light a candle, listen to soft spiritual music, read Bible verses, or pray. We also recognize that navigating the world of addiction can be isolating, which is why our family support services are here to help. If you prefer, an advocate from our peer mentoring program will gladly sit quietly with you in our chapel and even pray with you. This is a safe haven for you to renew your faith that things can improve or to express gratitude to the Lord for opening the doors of recovery to your loved one through programs like the SMART program and the CRAFT method.

Sometimes, just having a quiet place you can escape to for a few minutes to drown out the chaotic and restless world is just what you need. We realize not everyone is 'religious,' but many of us still consider ourselves spiritual and believe in a higher power nonetheless. Maybe you're one who might find some serenity in listening to soft music, creative writing, yoga, adult coloring, journaling, or reading. Our indoor meditation garden room might just be where you can leave your worries at the door and come in to relax, taking a few minutes to fade out the world and take that cleansing breath and exhale...really exhale. Some of you may prefer to be alone with your thoughts as you enjoy the pretty foliage and listen to the gentle sound of water splashing in the fountain. Others might appreciate having an advocate there, perhaps through our family support services, to talk through feelings of fear, anger, frustration, or resentment, or to share memories of happier times. Whether you are seeking addiction counseling or exploring the CRAFT method, we are here to support you in any way we can. Additionally, our peer mentoring program and the SMART program are available for those looking for community and guidance. No matter what your preferences are, we are dedicated to providing the support you need.

In addition to the services we provide to individuals living with addiction and their families, we also extend our support to communities in northwest Kansas. We offer educational and prevention presentations to schools, clubs, churches, and other organizations about the dangers of substance abuse, including topics such as Marijuana, Vaping, Fentanyl, and Alcohol. We can also customize a presentation to meet your organization's specific needs. Our Certified Peer Mentors share their personal experiences with addiction, illustrating how this disease impacted their lives and, more importantly, how they successfully found recovery and went on to lead happy, healthy, and respectable lives. For families seeking support, we provide family support services that incorporate the CRAFT method, enhancing communication and engagement. Additionally, we collaborate with employers through their Employee Assistance Programs and Human Resources to accept referrals for staff members who may benefit from addiction counseling, drug or alcohol assessments, referrals to residential treatment, DUI evaluations, the SMART program, educational classes, group pattern-changing classes, individual peer mentoring, legal and/or CINC case management, and other services we offer.
